Yesterday Park—translated as “昨⽇公園” in Mandarin—becomes“尋⽇公園” in Cantonese, where“尋⽇” carries a subtle resonance beyond simply marking time. It hints at the act of tracing and searching for memory through the everyday. This residency project, Yesterday Park, continues the thread of With no names (2020)—a body of work inspired by a 2019 journey through Hong Kong and Macau. Onceagain, it begins with the image of a public drinking fountain, a familiar structure that opens space for dialogue. Beneath it sits a reassembled TWEMCO flip clock. The fragmented date cards fall rhythmicallyand unevenly onto a translucent sculpture below, making a soft fluttering sound—swash swash—like the pages of a damp calendar.May in Hong Kong brings the same muggy heaviness as a Taiwanese summer. Walking into the former Sham Shui Po Service Reservoir atop Bishop Hill, one feels a subtle lift from its symmetrical arches. Fine cracks on the concrete floor hint at the flow of past waters. Granite blocks pile on the concrete surface,and countless electric fans blow the heat and sweat off visitors’ bodies. I sip canned water bought from a convenience store, trying to recall the cool shade once drawn from a water reservoir. We may not always retrieve yesterday, but Yesterday Park will open in parallel with NewPark, where a drinking fountain will gently circulate water and gradually replenish new impressions of Hong Kong and Shek Kip Mei.

Yesterday Park，華語可譯作「昨⽇」公園，⽽昨⽇在粵語中可寫做「尋⽇」，在時間敘述之外，仍保有⼀種在⽇常中回朔記憶的意思在裡頭。此次名為「尋⽇公園」駐村計畫，延續⾃2020年發表的〈沒有名字的〉 ⼀系列由2019年的港澳之旅所啟發的創作，並再次以⼀座類公共飲⽔台的形象打開對話，下⽅安置⼀座重組的TWEMCO翻⾴鐘，被打散⽇期的⾴⽚發出節奏不⼀的聲響，唰唰地落在半透明的雕塑上，像⼀本受潮的⽉曆。五⽉的香港有著台灣夏天的悶濕，走進主教⼭的前深⽔涉配⽔庫，對稱性的拱形結構形成的上升⼒量，地板上細微的乾裂紋透露著⽔流過的痕跡，混凝⼟地板上堆著花崗岩⽯塊，無數隻電扇吹拂著遊⼈⾝上的熱氣與汗⽔，我喝著便利店買來的罐裝⽔，試著尋回⼀絲曾經食⽤⽔庫的陰涼。今⽇不⼀定能尋回昨⽇，尋⽇公園將會與 newpark 同步開放，有座飲⽔台汩汩循環，並慢慢地補上對香港、⽯硤尾的新印象。
